AUTISM AND SIBLINGS

When a member of the family is affected by a disorder or a handicap, the whole family is affected. The parents will mobilize for this child who becomes their constant concern. But what happens to the brothers and sisters?

Depending on their place in the sibling group, their age, the strength of their developing personality, the parental experience and communication within the family, each brother or sister will react in his or her own way, but all will be affected.

Children who grow up with a brother or sister with autism face a unique situation. They will have to live with this different sibling and will have different ways of communicating with him/her.

The workshops will take place on four Wednesday afternoons from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm, once a quarter.
